Blue Monday Live Sessions

Blue Monday Live Sessions” will continue rockin’ and rollin’ with Ray Boudreaux and Lee Allen Zeno LIVE from the Upper Lafayette Economic Development Foundation and Love of People offices this week on Thursday at 1 p.m.

This evolution of the Blue Monday Mission was born of the confluence of events in 2020. ULEDF and Love of People opened shared office space that housed donated equipment, and the global pandemic, the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, forced the closure of public gatherings throughout the country.

“Thanks to the Upper Lafayette Economic Development Foundation and Love of People non-profit,” said Executive Director Johnathan Williams, “we are developing a platform for local musicians to utilize our live studio to promote themselves and generate revenue!”

Blue Monday Mission’s monthly concert series was paused, leaving musicians to take to streaming services for creative outlets, and to receive buffered revenue from the losses because of lack of performances. Part of ULEDF’s mission is to assist small businesses with business services. Williams has emphasized the importance of viewing creatives and artists as small businesses, while providing resources for them to expand, along with our cultural economy.

Blue Monday Live enlisted the expertise and equipment of It’s a Go Show Live productions, the production company of disc jockey Greenlight, the moniker of Lamar Thompson. RADER Solutions provided the networking power that makes the live productions possible and high quality. ULEDF provides the studio space, and Love of People curated the musical equipment housed in the studio.

The space will be available to rent for creatives and member-businesses to use for video and audio production, live streaming and broadcasting, and to connect with audiences affected by the pandemic closures, as well as going forward. There are echoes of “new-normals” in every industry, and Blue Monday Live Studios said it hopes to position itself for the future of live events and music media.
